NewTimeSpace News: On 6 November 2026, CSPC Pharmaceutical Group Limited (Stock Code: 1093) announced that the Phase II trial of SYH9061 for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) has started at its first site in China.
The announcement shows that SYH9061 is a nintedanib dry powder inhaler classified as a Class 2.2 chemical drug. Nintedanib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, competitively binds the ATP site in the intracellular receptor kinase domain and inhibits VEGFR, PDGFR and FGFR, blocking signalling and fibroblast proliferation, migration and transformation. Delivering nintedanib directly to the lungs raises pulmonary exposure while lowering systemic levels and gastrointestinal side effects.
The Group obtained NMPA clinical trial approval in December 2025 and began a Phase I study in healthy male volunteers; the Phase II trial is multicentre, randomised, blinded and placebo- and active-controlled, assessing efficacy and safety in Chinese adults with IPF.
