NewTimeSpace News: On 3 November 2026, CSPC Pharmaceutical Group Limited (stock code: 01093) voluntarily announced that the Phase II trial (SYH2072-003) of its SYH2072 Tablets for uncontrolled and resistant hypertension has started at its first study centre in China. The product is a Class 1 chemical drug and a highly selective aldosterone synthase inhibitor (ASI) that inhibits the key enzyme CYP11B2, blocking aldosterone synthesis.
Unlike mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (MRAs), it blocks aldosterone synthesis at source and avoids aldosterone escape. Non-clinical studies showed clear activity with good safety. The Group received clinical trial approval and started a Phase I trial in December 2025. The Phase II study is multicentre, randomised, double-blind and placebo-controlled, evaluating efficacy and safety in patients with hypertension uncontrolled after two or more antihypertensive drugs.
