NewTimeSpace News: Boosted by favorable policy developments, the photovoltaic (PV) sector staged a counter-trend rally on March 4. Jinkai New Energy surged over 8%, while Shouhang New Energy and CSG Energy gained more than 6%, and SDIC Green Energy climbed over 4%.Csop Huatai-Pinebridge Csi Photovoltaic Industry Etf(03134.HK) bucked the market downturn, rising nearly 1%.

Csop Huatai-Pinebridge Csi Photovoltaic Industry Etf(03134.HK) tracks the Photovoltaic Industry Index. The CSI Photovoltaic Industry Index selects up to 50 most representative listed companies from securities of firms whose principal business covers the upstream, midstream, and downstream segments of the PV industry chain, aiming to reflect the overall performance of PV industry constituents.

Latest developments show that on March 3, six ministries jointly released the Guidelines on Promoting Comprehensive Utilization of Photovoltaic Modules, proposing a series of policy measures across six dimensions: advancing green design and manufacturing in the PV sector, promoting orderly decommissioning and retirement of PV modules, driving green and efficient dismantling and recycling, fostering coordinated development across the entire PV module utilization industrial chain, optimizing the environment for industrial innovation and development, and strengthening organizational safeguards to ensure the healthy and orderly growth of the PV module comprehensive utilization industry.

Central China Securities notes that the domestic PV industry remains in a deep adjustment cycle, with the market undergoing accelerated capacity clearance. Space-based solar power currently sits at the nascent 0-to-1 stage, requiring validation across multiple dimensions including technical pathways and economic viability before achieving large-scale commercial application, though the long-term market space remains expansive. PV industry valuations continue to hover at historically low levels. The firm recommends focusing on leaders in perovskite cells/monolithic perovskite-silicon tandem cells, energy storage inverters, and integrated module manufacturers.
