SCS pointed out that the Hang Seng TECH Index has largely returned to around the "924" level, and theoretically there would be short covering by funds, but the current position lacks strong fundamental support, and with overseas risks repeatedly disturbing, the rebound strength of the Hang Seng TECH Index may be limited. It maintains a cautious watch on Hong Kong stocks, advises caution in chasing rebounds, and suggests focusing on structural opportunities.
1. Overseas macro risks are hard to release in one go, and US Treasury yields are prone to rising but hard to fall, which will persistently suppress Hong Kong stocks. With the US-Iran conflict recurring, the market remains cautious about pricing long-end US Treasuries, and the market expects at least one more rate hike within the remainder of the year. These issues keep disturbing the market rhythm, and the pace and room of Hong Kong stock rebounds have been repeatedly disturbed.
2. Domestic demand improvement still takes time, and there is no policy reversal signal for consumption yet. Although the Hang Seng TECH Index recently optimized its compilation methodology, expanded the scope of constituent stocks, and incorporated technology themes such as artificial intelligence, advanced hardware, robotics and automation, the weight impact of the newly added technology stocks is limited, and it is difficult to reverse the market's pricing inertia of treating it as a "consumer basket" in the short term.
3. Allocation suggestions: stay defensive overall, allocate to low-volatility dividends, pay structural attention to global expansion companies, and focus on the midstream and downstream of the AI industry chain from a medium- to long-term perspective.
