Novaken Pharm Files Second HKEX Listing Application; China’s First Dissolvable Microneedle Patch Under Clinical Development
NewTimeSpace News: Guangzhou Novaken Pharm Co., Ltd. submitted its second listing application to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 24 July, with Guotai Junan International acting as the sole sponsor. Founded in 2007, it is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical enterprise focusing on the development and commercialisation of improved new drugs. Its core product DHMP (Dexmedetomidine Hydrochloride Microneedle Patch) is China’s first dissolvable microneedle pharmaceutical patch approved for clinical trials and the only candidate progressing into Phase II clinical studies to date. Another core asset XJN010 is the first investigational product targeting off episodes of Parkinson’s Disease to secure clinical trial approval in China.

Established in 2007, the Company is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical enterprise. Building upon previously approved active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), it leverages alternative formulation and drug delivery technologies to develop and commercialise improved new drugs, and does not engage in discovery or development of novel APIs.
The Company has two self-developed core products. DHMP (Dexmedetomidine Hydrochloride Microneedle Patch) is indicated for pre-operative sedation in paediatric and adult patients. According to Frost & Sullivan data, DHMP represents China’s first dissolvable microneedle pharmaceutical patch granted clinical trial approval, and remains the sole candidate advancing into Phase II clinical trials in China. The Company initiated Phase IIa clinical trials for the paediatric indication in China in August 2025, which were completed in June 2026; Phase II clinical trials for the adult indication were launched in March 2026.
XJN010 is an intranasal inhalation formulation developed for on-demand treatment of off episodes in patients with Parkinson’s Disease. It is the first and only investigational product targeting this indication approved to conduct clinical trials in China. The Company commenced its Phase II clinical trials in China in August 2025 and completed the trials in April 2026.
The Company is also developing three pipeline candidates: XJN026 (Phase I trial initiated in April 2026), XJN1102 and XJN2503.
