NewTimeSpace News: On 6 November 2026, Hangzhou Jiuyuan Genetic Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Stock Code: 2566) announced that the IND application for JY54-2 Injection, a self-developed Class 1 new drug, has been formally accepted by the Centre for Drug Evaluation (CDE) of the National Medical Products Administration.
The announcement shows that the application covers type 2 diabetes and weight management in obese or overweight people, and the Company plans a Phase I study to assess safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. JY54-2 is a long-acting amylin analogue with a pH-neutral, stable profile and potential for combinations with metabolic drugs such as GLP-1 products. By mimicking natural amylin and binding to amylin receptors, it suppresses glucagon secretion, slows gastric emptying and reduces appetite; preclinical studies showed strong results across efficacy and safety measures.
