- The study is a randomised, controlled, open-label multicentre trial registered in China as CTR20263531.
- It covers early post-operative PJI within three months and acute haematogenous PJI within four weeks of symptoms, plus chronic PJI needing long-term antibiotic suppression.
NewTimeSpace News: On 23 October 2026, TenNor Therapeutics (Suzhou) Limited (stock code: 06872) said the first patient has been enrolled in a multicentre phase IIb trial of rifaquizone (TNP-2092) given by intra-articular injection for prosthetic joint infection (PJI). The randomised, controlled, open-label study (NCT07858916; China registration CTR20263531) plans to enrol 40 adults.
The trial will assess efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetics in patients with early post-operative PJI (within three months of knee replacement) or acute haematogenous PJI (within four weeks of symptoms) treated without debridement or replacement surgery, and in chronic PJI patients needing long-term antibiotic suppression. The primary endpoint is efficacy at six months.
