ZHAOKE OPHTH-B (06622.HK): Enters five-year exclusive distribution and promotion agreement with Pengpai Biomedical for Emedastine Hydrochloride Eye Drops across all sales channels in China

NewTimeSpace News: On 12 August 2026, Zhaoke Ophthalmology Limited (stock code: 06622) announced that the Company has recently entered into an exclusive distribution and promotion agreement with Pengpai Biomedical (Beijing) Co., Ltd. for Emedastine Hydrochloride Eye Drops, covering all sales channels in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan of China). Under the agreement, the parties will cooperate for an initial term of five years; if Pengpai Biomedical achieves at least 80% of the cumulative procurement target during the first five-year period without any other material breach, the cooperation period will be automatically renewed once, extending the total contract term to ten years.

The announcement disclosed that Emedastine Hydrochloride Eye Drops is a generic drug independently developed by the Company, approved for marketing by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) on 19 November 2025 for the treatment of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic conjunctivitis. Validated by the conjunctival allergen challenge (CAC) model, the product takes effect rapidly within 3 minutes of administration, with efficacy lasting at least 8 hours and good overall safety and tolerability. The product is a generic version of Elestat, featuring a dual mechanism of action of antihistamine and mast cell stabilisation, serving as a first-line basic therapy for allergic conjunctivitis (AC), an ocular disease characterised by hypersensitivity reactions after the conjunctiva contacts allergens such as environmental pollutants, pet dander, pollen and household dust mites, often causing intractable itching and recurrent episodes.
