CGN POWER (01816.HK): Cangnan & Huizhou Nuclear Units Granted On-grid Tariff of RMB 0.4153/kWh Prior to Power Market Participation
NewTimeSpace News: CGN POWER (01816.HK) announced on 20 July that its Cangnan and Huizhou nuclear power units have secured a fixed on-grid tariff of RMB 0.4153 per kWh (tax inclusive) during the period before they join power market trading; prices will be determined by market rules thereafter. Unit 1 of both projects entered commercial operation in April 2026, while Unit 2 of Huizhou and Cangnan are scheduled to commence commercial service in H2 2026 and 2027 respectively.
NewTimeSpace News: On 20 July 2026, CGN POWER (01816.HK) released an official announcement. Its subsidiary CGN Cangnan Nuclear Power Co., Limited has obtained a tariff approval document issued by Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission. The on-grid tariff for Unit 1 and Unit 2 of Cangnan Nuclear Power Plant during commercial operation, prior to participation in power market transactions, is set at RMB 0.4153 per kilowatt-hour (tax inclusive). Tariffs after market entry will be formulated in accordance with power market regulations.
Separately, CGN Huizhou Nuclear Power Co., Limited has signed a power purchase and sales contract with Guangdong Power Grid. The on-grid tariff for Huizhou Unit 1 and Unit 2 during commercial operation is also fixed at RMB 0.4153/kWh, subject to market-based pricing rules subsequently.
Previous disclosures show Huizhou Unit 1 and Cangnan Unit 1 commenced commercial operation on 19 April and 29 April 2026 respectively. Huizhou Unit 2 and Cangnan Unit 2 are currently under commissioning, targeting commercial launch in the second half of 2026 and 2027 correspondingly.
