Green Fresh Biotechnology (01084.HK): BOTEC Brand Eco Sandwich Box Listed on Hong Kong EPD Green Tableware Platform
NewTimeSpace.comreports, Green Fresh Biotechnology Company Limited (Stock Code: 1084) announced that one of the 100% biodegradable seaweed polysaccharide film application products independently developed by the group's subsidiary Lanhai Algae Film (Fujian) Biotechnology Co., Ltd., namely the BOTEC brand eco-friendly transparent window sandwich box product represented by the group's wholly-owned subsidiary Green (China) Technology Development Co., Ltd., has been formally approved by the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department and listed on the "Green Tableware Platform" as an eco-friendly disposable tableware product. Green (China) has also become the supplier of the relevant product.
To reduce the use of disposable plastic tableware at source, the Product Eco-responsibility Ordinance (Chapter 603 of the Laws of Hong Kong) has been amended to include provisions regulating disposable plastic tableware and other plastic products, which came into effect on 22 April 2024. The Green Tableware Platform aims to assist the catering industry and the public in procuring alternatives to disposable plastic tableware that comply with regulatory requirements.
The high-transparency independently developed seaweed polysaccharide film adopted in the above product possesses core market advantages as the market's first innovative food-grade polysaccharide transparent material. The transparent polysaccharide film material has been certified by a third-party authoritative institution as 100% plastic-free. The product also received the German TÜV DIN Home Compostable certification in March this year. The board believes that this inclusion in the Green Tableware Platform not only represents full recognition of the BOTEC brand eco-friendly sandwich box in terms of environmental standards, but is also an important milestone for the group in promoting sustainable development and green technology products. This is expected to enhance the brand awareness and competitiveness of the group's products in Hong Kong and international markets, bringing a positive impact on the group's business development.
