CUTIA-B (02487.HK): CU-40102 nonsteroidal spray wins Macao approval for hair loss

NewTimeSpace News: On 21 September 2026, Cutia Therapeutics (stock code: 2487) published a voluntary announcement that CU-40102 (topical finasteride spray) has obtained marketing approval from the Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia.

The announcement stated that finasteride, as a specific competitive inhibitor of type II 5-alpha-reductase, inhibits the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone in the scalp and can treat androgenetic alopecia. Unlike oral finasteride, the topical formulation of CU-40102 allows patients to apply the drug directly and precisely to the scalp surface, reducing systemic exposure compared with the oral drug. The Company believes that CU-40102 as a topical drug will be more readily accepted by patients and provides an alternative solution.

This approval follows CU-40102's earlier marketing approvals from the National Medical Products Administration of China and the Department of Health of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. The announcement noted that CU-40102 is undergoing extensive commercialisation in China, and the approval will further deepen its international layout and broaden its market space.
