NewTimeSpace News: On 15 September 2026, Shanghai Bio-heart Biological Technology Co., Ltd. (stock code: 02185) issued a voluntary announcement that it recently entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai Shenqi Medical Technology Co., Ltd. to jointly advance the commercialisation and clinical application of the Bioheart® bioresorbable rapamycin-eluting coronary stent system (the "BioHeart Stent"), a product independently developed by the Company.
Under the strategic cooperation agreement, the two parties will leverage their respective resources in market channel development and academic promotion to jointly advance the commercialisation and clinical application of the BioHeart Stent. The BioHeart Stent adopts an ultra-thin strut design with a minimum strut thickness of 90 microns, improving device deliverability and lesion crossing capability while enhancing radial support. Its scaffold is made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which gradually degrades and is absorbed in the body and progressively disappears from the blood vessel after completing its staged scaffolding role. The BioHeart Stent also carries a rapamycin-loaded poly-D, L-lactic acid (PDLLA) sustained-release coating that inhibits neointimal hyperplasia through continuous drug release and supports long-term luminal stability, with multiple levels of clinical research providing clinical support for its safety and efficacy.
According to the announcement, Shenqi Medical was established in September 2014 and is headquartered in Shanghai, China. It is an innovative medical device enterprise integrating research and development, manufacturing and sales, with a product portfolio covering cardiovascular intervention, structural heart disease and peripheral vascular intervention. After making all reasonable enquiries, and to the best of the Directors' knowledge, information and belief, Shenqi Medical and its ultimate beneficial owners are third parties independent of the Company and its connected persons. The Board considers that Shenqi Medical's market channels and academic promotion resources in the cardiovascular intervention field will facilitate the commercialisation and clinical application of the BioHeart Stent.
The Board considers that entering into the strategic cooperation agreement with Shenqi Medical represents an important step for the Company in advancing its commercialisation process and accelerating market adoption of its products, and that the agreement is in line with the Company's business development strategy and the overall interests of the Company and its shareholders. The strategic cooperation agreement is a framework agreement and is non-binding, setting out the intention and basic principles of cooperation between the two parties. As of the date of the announcement, the two parties had not entered into any formal or legally binding agreement in respect of the cooperation, and the cooperation may or may not materialise. The Company will make further announcements in due course.
