TONG REN TANG (01666.HK): Subsidiary Obtains Certificate of Registration for Chinese Patent Medicine, Sanzi Yangqin Granules to Be Sold in Hong Kong

NewTimeSpace News: On 28 August 2026, TONG REN TANG (01666.HK) announced that its subsidiary obtained a Certificate of Registration of Chinese Patent Medicine (No. HKC-18820, valid until 25 August 2031) from the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong, permitting the sale of Sanzi Yangqin Granules (Tong Ren Tang) in Hong Kong; cumulative R&D investment in the product was approximately HKD 800,000 (unaudited) and the product has not yet been marketed, while the certificate is not expected to have a material impact on the Group's operations and results for the time being.

NewTimeSpace News: On 28 August 2026, Beijing Tong Ren Tang Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (stock code: 01666) issued a voluntary announcement that its subsidiary, Beijing Tong Ren Tang Chinese Medicine Co., Ltd. (Tong Ren Tang Chinese Medicine), has received a Certificate of Registration of Chinese Patent Medicine issued by the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong, permitting the sale of Sanzi Yangqin Granules (Tong Ren Tang) in Hong Kong. The certificate bears registration number HKC-18820 and is valid until 25 August 2031, with Tong Ren Tang Chinese Medicine registered as the holder at 3 Tai King Street, Tai Po Industrial Estate, New Territories, Hong Kong.

According to the announcement, Sanzi Yangqin Granules (Tong Ren Tang) is indicated for warming the lungs and resolving phlegm, directing qi downward and promoting digestion, for syndrome of phlegm accumulation with qi stagnation manifested as cough with wheezing and counterflow, profuse sputum with chest stuffiness, poor appetite and difficult digestion, greasy white tongue coating and slippery pulse. As of the date of the announcement, the Group's cumulative R&D investment in the product was approximately HKD 800,000 (unaudited), and the product has not yet been put on the market.

The Board stated that following the receipt of the certificate, Sanzi Yangqin Granules (Tong Ren Tang) produced by Tong Ren Tang Chinese Medicine can be sold in Hong Kong, which will enrich the Group's product line and facilitate market expansion. The receipt of the certificate is not expected to have a material impact on the Group's production, operation and results for the time being; sales of the medicine remain subject to factors including changes in the policy environment in Hong Kong, exchange rate fluctuations and market competition.
