Brii Biosciences (02137.HK): Releases End-of-Treatment Topline Data from Phase 2b Chronic Hepatitis B Studies

NewTimeSpace News: On July 3, 2026, Brii Biosciences (02137.HK) unveiled end-of-treatment topline data from its Phase 2b ENRICH and ENHANCE clinical studies for chronic hepatitis B. In the ENRICH study, the two administration regimens of BRII-179 yielded HBsAg clearance rates of 42.9% (42/98) and 40.0% (20/50), verifying the immune priming effect of BRII-179. The company has reached preliminary alignment with the Center for Drug Evaluation under the NMPA regarding pivotal registrational trials.

The triple combination regimen in the ENHANCE study delivered an HBsAg clearance rate of 25.5% (25/98), exceeding the 10.2% (5/49) observed in the PEG-IFNαcontrol arm, yet falling short of the 29.7% (11/37) recorded in the earlier ENSURE study.

The company stated that uncertainties remain in the ongoing arbitration with Vir Biotechnology. It will not invest in Phase 3 clinical programs incorporating elebsiran unless the arbitration is resolved satisfactorily, and will provide relevant updates in due course.
