III. AI Industry & Corporate Developments
1. TENCENT Releases Hunyuan Hy4 with 770 Billion Parameters, Adding Visual Understanding and Computer Use for the First Time
On November 4, Tencent's Hunyuan team released the official version of its Hy4 large language model. Compared with the Hy4 preview launched on August 28, Hy4 expands both the data and training scale in pre-training and post-training, with 770 billion total parameters and 49 billion activated parameters under a Mixture-of-Experts architecture and a context window of more than one million tokens; the earlier Hy3 series carried fewer than 300 billion parameters, and the next generation Hy5 will scale further. On capabilities, Hy4 introduces visual understanding for the first time, handling fine-grained image processing, complex chart analysis and mathematical visual reasoning, and supports Computer Use for the first time, executing tasks through command lines and graphical interfaces with dedicated training for professional software such as Blender and CAD as well as long-horizon cross-application tasks. The company said it will open-source the model weights shortly; Hy4 is already live on Tencent Cloud Tokenhub, Yuanbao, the WeCom smart assistant and ima, with its API also available on platforms such as OpenRouter.
2. Apple Intelligence for the China Market Enters Beta on iOS 27.3 as Qwen Connects to Siri and Writing Tools
In the early hours of November 4, Apple released iOS 27.3 Developer Beta 1, marking the first test of Apple Intelligence for mainland China. Apple has partnered with Alibaba to integrate the Qwen model into three native entry points: Siri, the system writing tools and visual intelligence, allowing users to call Qwen's text understanding, image recognition and content generation capabilities directly. The first batch of features includes live translation, writing tools, visual intelligence, the Photos clean-up tool, Genmoji and notification summaries, while the next-generation Siri AI is not part of this round. Apple plans to roll the features out to Chinese users in December alongside the official iOS 27.3 release. Apple's US shares rose more than 6% on November 4 to USD 353.05, lifting its market value back above USD 5 trillion.
3. JD.com to Procure 3 Million Robots Over Five Years and Build the World's Largest Embodied AI Data Collection Centre
On November 4, at the robotics and embodied intelligence forum of the 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, Cao Peng, chairman of JD.com's technology committee, said the company plans to collect more than 10 million hours of high-quality real-world human scenario video and more than 1 million hours of robot operating data within two years, building the world's largest embodied AI data collection centre; collection already covers more than 100 production and service scenarios and over 100,000 real work tasks. On the application side, JD Logistics plans to procure 3 million robots, 1 million unmanned vehicles and 100,000 drones over the next five years, and to create more than 100,000 after-sales service engineer positions for robotics. JD Cloud already serves embodied AI clients including UBTECH, and AgiBot robots have entered JD Logistics' Zhilang warehouses.
4. Global AI Compute Spending Keeps Scaling as Anthropic Discloses About USD 895.4 Billion of Compute Commitments
On November 2, Anthropic filed an amended prospectus with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, adding financial data for the third quarter of fiscal 2026: quarterly revenue reached USD 16.956 billion, up about 12 times year on year, while net loss widened to USD 23.3 billion from USD 12.1 billion a year earlier. The filing also disclosed total purchase and lease commitments of about USD 895.4 billion, almost entirely for computing power and data centre leases, with payments running to 2045 and about USD 69.8 billion falling due within the next 12 months. Earlier, Meta raised its 2026 capital expenditure guidance to USD 135 billion to USD 145 billion. Long-term compute lock-in by overseas cloud providers and model developers underpins forward demand for AI hardware.
5. Kingdee International: AI-Native Product Contracts Reach RMB 1.002 Billion in the First Three Quarters, Lingji Paid Customers at 3,706
According to Kingdee International's (00268.HK) disclosures and its 2026 Global Innovators Conference, the company signed RMB 1.002 billion of AI-native product contracts in the first three quarters; subscription ARR reached about RMB 4.604 billion at the end of September, up about 19.3% year on year, with net new ARR in the third quarter up about 46.9%. Net dollar retention rates for Kingdee AI Cosmic, AI Sky and AI Star were 101%, 97% and 95% respectively. Lingji, the enterprise agent operating system launched on October 23, has reached 3,706 paid customers within five months of launch, alongside three core capabilities: Lingji Manage, enterprise context and ERP connectors.
