HK shares ETFs Daily Report: Innovative Finance and Blockchain Lead as Biotech Strengthens in Tandem - September 21, 2026
- Innovative finance and blockchain themes led the gains, with Global X Innovative Finance ETF up 5.79% to top the list, while Pando Blockchain ETF and Samsung Blockchain Technologies ETF strengthened in tandem.
- Biotech themes returned, with CSOP Hang Seng Biotech ETF, ChinaAMC Hang Seng Hong Kong Biotech Index ETF and Global X China Biotech ETF each gaining more than 4.4%.
- Southbound Stock Connect ETFs saw no decliners on the day, with CSOP Hang Seng Biotech ETF up 4.95% to lead and the smallest gain at 0.12%.
On September 21, 2026, the HK shares ETFs market was led by innovative finance, blockchain and biotech themes. Five ETFs — Global X Innovative Finance ETF, Pando Blockchain ETF, CSOP Hang Seng Biotech ETF, ChinaAMC Hang Seng Hong Kong Biotech Index ETF and E Fund (HK) Wind Digital Technology Index ETF — gained no less than 4.5%. Korea and Hong Kong new listing themes also advanced. On the downside, gold miners and Vietnam themes weakened, with losses generally limited. Among southbound Stock Connect ETFs, none declined on the day, with the smallest gain at 0.12% and biotech names leading.
Gains were concentrated in innovative finance and blockchain themes. Global X Innovative Finance ETF (03185.HK), managed by Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong), rose 5.79% to top the gainers list. Pando Blockchain ETF (03112.HK), managed by Pando Limited, rose 5.14%; Samsung Blockchain Technologies ETF (03171.HK), managed by Samsung Asset Management (Hong Kong), rose 4.05%.
Biotech themes returned to the top of the gainers list. CSOP Hang Seng Biotech ETF (03174.HK), managed by CSOP Asset Management, rose 4.95%; ChinaAMC Hang Seng Hong Kong Biotech Index ETF (03069.HK), managed by China Asset Management (Hong Kong), rose 4.93%; Global X China Biotech ETF (02820.HK), managed by Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong), rose 4.46%, tracking the Solactive China Biotech Index. Three biotech ETFs entered the top six gainers.
Digital technology and innovation themes also performed. E Fund (HK) Wind Digital Technology Index ETF (03434.HK), managed by E Fund Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited, rose 4.50%, tracking the Wind Digital Technology Net Total Return Index (HKD); Pando Innovation ETF (03056.HK), managed by Pando Limited, rose 4.00%.
In addition, Xtrackers MSCI Korea UCITS ETF (02848.HK), managed by DWS Investment S.A., rose 3.07%; Phillip HK Newly Listed Equities Index ETF (02835.HK), managed by Phillip Capital Management (Hong Kong) Limited, rose 2.88%, tracking the Solactive Hong Kong Newly Listed Equities Index (Net Total Return).

On the downside, gold miners led the declines. E Fund (HK) Solactive Global Gold Miner Select Index ETF (02824.HK), managed by E Fund Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited, fell 2.65%, the biggest decliner of the day.
Vietnam themes weakened collectively. Premia MSCI Vietnam ETF (02804.HK), managed by Premia Partners Company Limited, fell 1.86%, tracking the S&P Vietnam Core Index; Xtrackers FTSE Vietnam UCITS ETF (03087.HK), managed by DWS Investment S.A., fell 1.12%; CSOP FTSE Vietnam 30 ETF (03004.HK), managed by CSOP Asset Management, fell 0.51%, tracking the FTSE Vietnam 30 Price Index. Three Vietnam-themed ETFs entered the losers list.
Semiconductor and cyclical themes edged lower. Global X China Semiconductor ETF (03191.HK), managed by Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong), fell 0.56%, tracking the FactSet China Semiconductor Index; Global X Copper Miners ETF (03014.HK), from the same manager, fell 0.65%.
Dividend and regional themes were broadly slightly lower. ChinaAMC Asia High Dividend ETF (03145.HK), managed by China Asset Management (Hong Kong), fell 0.48%; ChinaAMC MSCI Europe Quality Hedged to USD ETF (03165.HK), from the same manager, fell 0.41%; CSOP Saudi Arabia ETF (02830.HK), managed by CSOP Asset Management, fell 0.40%.
