NewTimeSpace News: On September 4, 2026, the Shanghai-Shenzhen Stock Connect ETFs market featured broad gains in defensive consumer sectors such as animal husbandry, media, agriculture and consumer staples, while technology themes including semiconductor equipment, STAR semiconductors and machine tools pulled back collectively again, with animal husbandry becoming the day's dominant line.
Animal husbandry and media/consumer staples themes were extremely strong during the session. Guotai CSI Animal Husbandry ETF (159865.SZ) rose 4.60%, the largest gain; China Merchants CSI Animal Husbandry ETF (516670.SH) advanced 4.58%; and Penghua CSI Animal Husbandry ETF (159867.SZ) gained 4.32%. Agriculture rallied in tandem: Tianhong CSI Agriculture Theme ETF (512620.SH) rose 3.85%, and Fullgoal CSI Agriculture Theme ETF (159825.SZ) gained 3.48%.
Media and consumer staples also delivered solid performance: Penghua CSI Media Index ETF (159805.SZ) rose 3.55%; GF CSI Media Index ETF (512980.SH) gained 3.51%; China Universal CSI Consumer Staples ETF (159928.SZ) rose 3.31%; Penghua CSI Alcoholic Drink Index ETF (512690.SH) gained 3.09%; and Harvest CSI Consumer Staples ETF (512600.SH) rose 2.62%. Overall, animal husbandry, media, agriculture and consumer staples formed a strong defensive consumer-sector linkage, with all of the top-10 gainers up more than 2.6%.
