HK Stock Connect Daily Report: HSTECH Falls 1.77%, Semiconductors Diverge, MINIMAX-W Slumps Nearly 13% - 20260814
I. Market Overview
On 14 August, Hong Kong's three major indices closed lower. The Hang Seng Index fell 1.1% to 25,116.85 points, the Hang Seng TECH Index fell 1.77%, and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index fell 1.02%. Full-day turnover reached HKD 254.179 billion.
On the trading front, semiconductors diverged markedly. SMIC (00981) rose 4.81% after results, with Q2 net profit up 261.7% year on year; HUA HONG GRACE (01347) plunged 11.55% after its Q3 revenue guidance missed expectations. Memory-storage names rose against the trend, with GIGADEVICE (03986) up 2%. Container shipping stocks gained broadly, with COSCO SHIP HOLD (01919) up 1.71% as Maersk raised its full-year guidance. Some gold stocks turned positive: CHINAGOLDINTL (02099) rose 14.64% and LINGBAO GOLD (03330) rose 4.18%, with the company's interim results hitting an all-time best. Internet and pharmaceutical stocks mostly fell, with JD LOGISTICS (02618) down 13.7% and JD-SW (09618) down 10.4%.
Southbound capital recorded a net sell of HKD 1.316 billion on the day. Of this, Stock Connect (Shanghai) saw net buying of HKD 287 million, while Stock Connect (Shenzhen) saw net selling of HKD 1.603 billion.

IV. Industry and Corporate Updates
1. HESAI-W (Old) Removed from Stock Connect Eligible Securities List from Today
According to a 14 August announcement, the Stock Connect eligible securities list has been adjusted, with HESAI-W (Old) (02983) removed from the list with effect from 14 August 2026. Hesai had just been added to Stock Connect on 24 July; it was removed in less than a month, mainly because the company completed the cancellation of its "old" shares and the issuance of new shares, resulting in a change of stock code.
2. Tencent Reported to Join Sequoia China and Others in Acquiring Manus Shares from Meta, Becoming the Largest Shareholder
According to market sources, TENCENT (00700.HK) will join Sequoia China and ZhenFund in buying back Manus shares from Meta (META.US), with the total consideration expected to be broadly in line with the price Meta paid, at approximately USD 2 billion. In a separate market report, Tencent has acquired the Manus shares held by US venture capital firm Benchmark, replacing it as Manus's largest shareholder. Tencent is a Stock Connect eligible stock.
3. MTR CORPORATION's H1 Net Profit Up 105.9% YoY, Property Development Profit HKD 12.2 Billion
On 14 August, MTR CORPORATION (00066.HK) published its 2026 interim results. First-half revenue was HKD 26.231 billion, down 3.1% year on year; net profit attributable to shareholders of the company was HKD 15.872 billion, up 105.9% year on year. The profit surge was mainly driven by property development profit in Hong Kong of HKD 12.233 billion, chiefly from the Tai Wai Station and "The Southside" Phase 5 projects; an interim dividend of HKD 0.42 per share is proposed. MTR CORPORATION is a Stock Connect eligible stock.
4. LINGBAO GOLD Expects H1 Net Profit Up About 42% to 57%; Xinjiang Gold Resources Leap to 53.94 Tonnes
LINGBAO GOLD (03330.HK) issued a positive profit alert, expecting first-half revenue of about RMB 7.9 billion to 8.1 billion, up about 1% to 4% year on year, and net profit of about RMB 950 million to 1.05 billion, up about 42% to 57% year on year. The profit growth was driven by cost-reduction and efficiency measures and higher gold prices. In addition, the overall exploration work of its Habahe Huatai Company in the Altay region of Xinjiang has made major phased progress, with retained gold resources leaping from 13.20 tonnes at end-2025 to 53.94 tonnes. LINGBAO GOLD has been included in Stock Connect eligible securities since 9 March 2026.
5. Guoxia Tech Expects H1 Profit Up About 882% to 1061%; Energy Storage Business Grows Explosively
On 14 August, GUOXIA TECH (02655.HK) issued a profit alert, expecting first-half revenue of about RMB 1.35 billion to 1.45 billion, up 95% to 109% year on year, and profit of about RMB 55 million to 65 million, versus about RMB 5.6 million in the same period of 2025, up 882% to 1061% year on year. The growth mainly benefited from the strong global energy storage market, with energy storage systems and EPC deliveries up significantly year on year. GUOXIA TECH has been included in Stock Connect eligible securities since 9 March 2026.

According to a 14 August announcement, the Stock Connect eligible securities list has been adjusted, with HESAI-W (Old) (02983.HK) removed with effect from that day.
