I. Market Overview

On 7 August, the three major Hong Kong indices opened lower and closed higher. The Hang Seng Index rose 0.54% to 25,668.03 points, the Hang Seng TECH Index rose 0.78% and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index rose 0.39%. Total daily turnover was HKD 259.686 billion, slightly up from the previous trading day.

On the trading front, pharmaceutical stocks led the gains, with ZAI LAB (09688) up 18.38%, WUXI BIO (02269) up 10.83% and WUXI APPTEC (02359) up 7.01%. PCB concepts rose across the board, with DELTON (01989) up 10.93% and VGT (02476) up 10.91%, as Goldman Sachs sharply raised its forecasts for the AI server PCB and CCL markets. The twin large-model titans climbed again, with Z.AI (02513) up 14.63% and MINIMAX-W (00100) up 9.83%, as DeepSeek announced API price increases, accelerating the convergence of low-price competition in the industry. Solar stocks rebounded broadly, with XINTE ENERGY (01799) up 13.53%, as eight major polysilicon producers signed an anti-involution initiative. Gold stocks extended gains in the afternoon, with ZIJIN MINING (02899) up 3.12%. Airline stocks came under pressure, with MGM CHINA (02282) down 7.76%.

Southbound capital recorded a net sell of HKD 778 million on the day, of which Stock Connect (Shanghai) posted a net buy of HKD 571 million and Stock Connect (Shenzhen) a net sell of HKD 1.349 billion.

IV. Industry and Corporate Updates

1. Nexchip formally added to HK Stock Connect, effective 7 August

On 7 August, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange announced adjustments to the HK Stock Connect eligible securities list, adding Nexchip (02249.HK) with effect from that day. Nexchip is principally engaged in semiconductor wafer foundry and is an A-share STAR Market listed company (688249.SH); its addition means mainland investors can directly trade its H shares through the Stock Connect channel. The Shanghai Stock Exchange also added Nexchip to the southbound list under Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect on 6 August.

2. BeiGene's H1 net profit soars 627%, sharply raising full-year revenue guidance

On 7 August, BeiGene (06160.HK) announced that net profit attributable to owners of the parent for the first half of 2026 reached RMB 3.271 billion, up 627.1% year-on-year, with total operating revenue of RMB 22.220 billion, up 26.8% year-on-year. The Company raised its 2026 revenue forecast to RMB 44.9 billion to RMB 46.2 billion. BeiGene is an HK Stock Connect eligible stock, and its results drove the HK Stock Connect innovative drug sector to strengthen across the board.

3. RemeGen issues profit alert, achieving large-scale interim profitability for the first time

On 7 August, RemeGen (09995.HK) issued a profit alert, expecting first-half operating revenue of approximately RMB 5.85 billion, up more than 4.3 times year-on-year, with net profit attributable to owners of the parent of RMB 4.7 billion and net profit attributable to owners of the parent excluding non-recurring items of approximately RMB 4.3 billion, marking the first large-scale interim profitability since listing. The growth was mainly driven by continued increases in domestic sales of core commercialised products Telitacicept and Disitamab Vedotin, as well as the recognition of substantial technology licensing income from the exclusive out-licensing agreement with AbbVie for overseas rights to RC148 (a PD-1/VEGF bispecific antibody), with total transaction value of up to USD 5.6 billion. RemeGen is an HK Stock Connect eligible stock.

4. Baili Tianheng files with HKEX for the fourth time, seeking A+H dual listing

According to HKEX documents disclosed on 6 August, Sichuan Baili Tianheng Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has submitted a listing application to the Main Board of HKEX, seeking an A+H dual listing. The Company listed on the STAR Market of the Shanghai Stock Exchange in January 2023 (688506.SH). This is Baili Tianheng's fourth attempt at a Hong Kong IPO after its previous three filings lapsed.

5. NASN TECH officially lists on HKEX, Hong Kong public offering oversubscribed over 2,500 times

On 7 August, NASN TECH (02261.HK), an intelligent driving wire-controlled braking solutions provider, officially listed on the Main Board of HKEX. The Company offered 57,594,500 H shares globally at an offer price of HKD 10.42 per share, with the Hong Kong public offering oversubscribed by 2,513.54 times, reflecting a strong market response. Focusing on intelligent driving wire-controlled braking, NASN TECH was one of China's top three domestic wire-controlled braking solutions providers by 2025 sales volume.

Eligible securities list adjustment announcement

On 7 August, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange announced adjustments to the HK Stock Connect eligible securities list, adding Nexchip (02249.HK) with effect from that day. No securities were removed in this adjustment.
