CHINA GOLD INT'L (02099.HK): Chang Shan Hao Mine Resumes Mining; Output Guidance Reiterated
NewTimeSpace News: On 27 October 2026, China Gold International Resources Corp. Ltd. (HKEX: 2099; TSX: CGG) published an overseas regulatory announcement that mining operations have resumed at its Chang Shan Hao (CSH) gold mine and that annual production guidance for the mine is reiterated.
On 22 May 2026, a localised slope failure occurred at the CSH mine, causing no injuries or equipment damage. To ensure safety, open-pit mining was suspended while the processing plant continued operating using existing low-grade stockpiled ore. The Company subsequently engaged external geotechnical experts and specialist institutions to carry out geotechnical assessments and design remediation plans.
By the end of September 2026, the mine had completed the key phase of remediation works required to resume mining, including restoring the pit haul road system, clearing loose material and unstable rock, reinforcing the landslide body and installing drainage systems, with slope monitoring continuing throughout. A third-party assessment confirmed that the slope hazards affecting mining had been rectified and that the site met the safety standards for normal operations; after filing with the emergency management authorities, mining resumed in early October 2026 as planned.
During the suspension, the mine continued processing low-grade stockpiled ore, helping mitigate the impact on gold output. With open-pit mining fully restored, the mine will optimise the blending of newly mined and stockpiled ore to maintain stable ore supply and processing grades. Based on completion of the key remediation works and the resumption of mining, the Company is confident of maintaining a stable production trajectory, and 2026 production guidance is unaffected.
