ASCLETIS-B (01672.HK): ASC36_35FDC preclinical data presented at EASD 2026
- ASC36_35FDC is a combination therapy independently developed using Ascletis' proprietary structure-based AI-assisted drug discovery (AISBDD) and ultra-long-acting drug development platform (ULAP) technologies, combining an amylin receptor agonist with a GLP-1R/GIPR dual agonist to leverage the complementary effects of the two mechanisms.
- In DIO rat and non-human primate (NHP) models, ASC36_35FDC showed more significant additional weight loss and food intake suppression compared with ASC35 monotherapy, suggesting a potential synergistic effect.
NewTimeSpace News: On 2 October 2026, Ascletis Pharma Inc. (stock code: 01672) announced that key preclinical data for ASC36_35FDC (a fixed-dose combination of ASC36 and ASC35) were presented at the 62nd Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD), held in Milan, Italy from 28 September to 2 October 2026. ASC36_35FDC is a monthly to quarterly fixed-dose combination injectable of ASC36, a peptide amylin receptor agonist, and ASC35, a peptide GLP-1R/GIPR agonist. The Company also stated that it has developed a once-weekly oral tablet of ASC36_35FDC.
The data showed that in diet-induced obesity (DIO) rats, ASC36_35FDC administered at 5 nmol/kg_8 nmol/kg once every 2 days for a total of 7 doses produced a 24.8% body weight reduction on Day 14, compared with 12.5% for the eloralintide/tirzepatide combination group and 16.8% for the MET-233i/tirzepatide combination group, representing relative improvements in weight loss of 98% and 47% respectively. In non-human primates, the observed half-lives of ASC36 and ASC35 in ASC36_35FDC were up to 781 hours (approximately 33 days) and 721 hours (approximately 30 days) respectively, supporting monthly and potentially quarterly subcutaneous dosing in humans. In terms of formulation stability, under simulated storage conditions (200 rpm, 25°C, 168 hours), no fibrillation-induced aggregation was observed for ASC36_35FDC across different concentrations, vehicles and pH conditions. The Company cautioned that it cannot guarantee that it will ultimately be able to successfully develop, market and/or commercialise ASC36_35FDC.
