CCB (00939.HK): Completes RMB 40bn Perpetual Capital Bond Issue

NewTimeSpace News: On 23 September 2026, China Construction Bank Corporation (stock code: 00939.HK) said its 2025 second extraordinary general meeting, held on 27 November 2025, approved the issue of capital instruments and total loss-absorbing capacity (TLAC) non-capital debt instruments of up to RMB 700 billion in aggregate, comprising capital instruments of up to RMB 450 billion and TLAC instruments of up to RMB 250 billion. With regulatory approval, the bank recently issued its 2026 perpetual capital bonds (second tranche) (Bond Connect) in the national interbank bond market, completing the issue on 22 September 2026.

The bonds were issued in a size of RMB 40 billion, with a coupon of 1.83% for the first five years, reset every five years, and a conditional issuer redemption right on each interest payment date from the fifth year. The proceeds will replenish the bank's additional Tier 1 capital, subject to applicable laws and regulatory approval.
