MEITU (01357.HK): Founder Wu Zeyuan Clarifies He Has Never Sold Shares and Increases Shareholding by 1 Million Shares

NewTimeSpace News: On 15 September 2026, Meitu, Inc. (stock code: 01357.HK) announced that, in response to online forum posts claiming that Mr. Wu Zeyuan (also known as Mr. Wu Xinhong), the Company's founder, chairman and chief executive officer, had sold or intended to sell his shareholding, the Company clarified that Mr. Wu has never sold any shares of the Company and has no plan or intention to sell any shares or otherwise reduce his shareholding in the Company.

The announcement disclosed that Mr. Wu acquired 1,000,000 shares of the Company on the open market of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited on 15 September 2026 at an average price of HKD 3.899 per share; following the increase, his aggregate interest increased from 594,796,670 shares to 595,796,670 shares, and his shareholding in the Company's issued share capital rose from approximately 12.97% to approximately 12.99%. Since 10 May 2018, Mr. Wu has accumulated purchases of 6,580,000 shares, and he reiterated his view that the Company's business fundamentals remain strong and that he does not rule out further increasing his shareholding at an appropriate time.
