ICBC (01398.HK): Completes issuance of RMB 20 billion perpetual capital bonds (tranche four), first five-year coupon at 1.86%

On 10 September 2026, ICBC (01398.HK) announced the completion of its 2026 perpetual capital bonds (tranche four) (Bond Connect) in the interbank bond market, bookbuilt on 8 September and completed on 10 September 2026, with an issuance size of RMB 20 billion and a coupon rate of 1.86% for the first five years, resetting every five years with a conditional issuer redemption right thereafter; proceeds will replenish additional tier-one capital.

NewTimeSpace News: On 10 September 2026, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited (stock code: 01398) announced that, with approval from the relevant regulatory authorities, its 2026 perpetual capital bonds (tranche four) (Bond Connect) have been fully issued in the national interbank bond market. The bonds were bookbuilt on 8 September 2026 and completed issuance on 10 September 2026.

According to the announcement, the issuance size was RMB 20 billion, with a coupon rate of 1.86% for the first five years, resetting every five years, and the issuer holds a conditional redemption right on each interest payment date in the fifth year and thereafter.

ICBC stated that the proceeds will be used to replenish the bank's additional tier-one capital in accordance with applicable laws and the approval of the competent authorities.
