TENNOR THERAP-B (06872.HK): Positive Phase IIa Proof-of-Concept Data for Rifaquizalone (TNP-2092) in Prosthetic Joint Infection; Multicenter Phase IIb Initiated

NewTimeSpace News: On 7 September 2026, TenNor Therapeutics (Suzhou) Limited (stock code: 06872) announced in a voluntary filing that its candidate drug rifaquizalone (TNP-2092), administered via intra-articular injection, has generated positive top-line results in a Phase IIa proof-of-concept trial in prosthetic joint infection (PJI). Based on these data, a multicenter Phase IIb trial has been approved by the NMPA and was recently initiated.

Rifaquizalone is the world's first candidate new drug with a three-target mechanism of action, jointly inhibiting bacterial RNA polymerase, DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, showing strong activity against drug-resistant pathogens and a low resistance frequency (<10⁻¹²). The drug has received FDA QIDP, Fast Track and Orphan Drug designations. According to the announcement, the United States and China see approximately 45,000 and 22,000 new PJI cases per year respectively, with global cases projected to reach 425,800 annually by 2035, including 86,500 in China.
