RIVERINE CHINA (01417.HK): SFC flags high shareholding concentration, share price up 4,015% since May
NewTimeSpace News: On 1 September 2026, the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) issued a statement regarding the concentration of the shareholdings of Riverine China Holdings Limited (stock code: 01417) in a small number of shareholders as of 14 August 2026. According to the SFC's recent enquiry, 20 shareholders held an aggregate of 62,422,114 shares of the Company as of 14 August 2026, representing 15.41% of the issued share capital.
The enquiry also found that 11,700,080 shares (representing 2.89% of the issued share capital), although registered in the Company's Hong Kong share register in the name of HKSCC Nominees Limited, were not deposited in the Central Clearing and Settlement System. Together with 300,178,000 shares (representing 74.12% of the issued share capital) held by two major shareholders, this accounted for 92.42% of the issued share capital, leaving only 30,699,806 shares (representing 7.58% of the issued share capital) held by other shareholders. Among them, Yomi.sun Holding Limited, ultimately beneficially owned by Mr. Sun Taoyong, held 222,898,000 shares, representing 55.04%, while Lucky Yang Limited, ultimately beneficially owned by Mr. Yang Xingyun, held 77,280,000 shares, representing 19.08%.
The closing price of the Company's shares rose 4,015% from HKD 0.20 on 12 May 2026 to HKD 8.23 on 14 August 2026, and closed at HKD 7.48 on 31 August 2026, 3,640% higher than the closing price of HKD 0.20 on 12 May 2026. The SFC noted that, given the high concentration of shareholdings in a small number of shareholders, the share price may fluctuate significantly even with a small volume of shares traded, and shareholders and potential investors should exercise caution when dealing in the Company's shares.
