CIRC (01763.HK): General Manager Zhang Junqi Resigns, Li Penghui Appointed as Successor
NewTimeSpace News: On 28 August 2026, China Isotope & Radiation Corporation (stock code: 01763) announced that Mr. Zhang Junqi resigned as executive director, member of the Strategy Committee and member of the Technology and Innovation Committee of the Board, as well as the general manager of the Company, all with effect from 28 August 2026 due to work position adjustment, and will no longer hold any position in the Company after the resignation. Mr. Zhang confirmed that he has no disagreement with the Board and no matters relating to his resignation need to be brought to the attention of the shareholders; the Board expressed its gratitude for Mr. Zhang's valuable contributions during his tenure.
On the same day, the Board resolved to appoint Mr. Li Penghui as the general manager of the Company. Mr. Li, aged 54, holds the professional title of senior engineer at professor level and graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology in August 1994 with a bachelor's degree in engineering. Before joining the Company, Mr. Li served as deputy general manager of CNNC Xiapu Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. from June 2015 to November 2021, and as chief engineer of the China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) from November 2021 to July 2026.
According to the announcement, Mr. Li has long been dedicated to the nuclear technology application field with extensive experience in project coordination and research management. He participated in the full process of design and construction of China's first experimental fast reactor, which received the Special Award of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award; he also led the breakthrough of key core technologies for the demonstration fast reactor, spearheaded the layout of the CIAE Huludao base outside Beijing, and efficiently advanced the initiation and implementation of research reactor and isotope application projects.
Mr. Li will enter into a service contract with the Company in connection with his appointment, with a term from 28 August 2026 until the expiry of the term of the fourth session of the Board, renewable upon expiry, and his remuneration will be determined by the Board with consideration of the recommendations of the Remuneration and Assessment Committee.
