PRUDENTIAL (02378.HK): Subsidiary completes sale of 2.0% stake in ICICI Prudential Asset Management for proceeds of about USD 300 million

NewTimeSpace News: On 27 August 2026, Prudential plc (stock code: 02378) announced that its subsidiary, Prudential Corporation Holdings Limited (PCHL), has successfully executed the sale of its 2.0% equity interest in ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Limited (IPAMC) through a public market sale process.

The final consideration for the sale was INR 3,065 per share, with proceeds equivalent to approximately USD 300 million. As set out in Prudential's 2026 half-year results released on 27 August 2026, the net proceeds will be returned to Prudential shareholders by way of a share buyback.

Prudential provides life and health insurance and asset management in Greater China, ASEAN, India and Africa, and has dual primary listings on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (2378) and the London Stock Exchange (PRU). It is also secondarily listed on the Singapore Exchange (K6S) and trades as American Depositary Receipts on the New York Stock Exchange (PUK).
