PRUDENTIAL(02378.HK): Appoints Sir Douglas Flint as Successor to Chairman, to Officially Take Office in May

On January 14, PRUDENTIAL announced that Sir Douglas Flint will be appointed as a non-executive director and incoming chairman. Subject to regulatory approval, he will join the board of directors in March to conduct handover work, and will formally succeed Shriti Vadera as chairman after the annual general meeting of shareholders on May 28. Shriti Vadera will step down from her position on the same day, concluding her six-year term.

NewTimeSpace News: PRUDENTIAL(02378.HK) announced a personnel change in an announcement on January 14, 2026, stating that Sir Douglas Flint will succeed Shriti Vadera as chairman in May. According to the announcement, the selection of the new chairman was completed by the Nomination and Governance Committee led by Jeremy Anderson, the senior independent director.

Information shows that Sir Douglas Flint, 70 years old, currently serves as the chairman of Aberdeen Group plc and IP Group plc. He has also held positions in institutions such as the Institute of International Finance, and the International Business Leaders Advisory Council for the Mayors of Beijing and Shanghai. He was awarded the CBE honor in 2006 and knighted in 2018.
