Boyaa Interactive (00434.HK): Expected H1 Loss of Approximately HK$790‑800 Million

NewTimeSpace News: Boyaa Interactive announced on 10 August that the Group expects to record a loss attributable to owners of the Company of approximately HK$790 million to HK$800 million for the six‑month period ending 30 June 2026.

NewTimeSpace News: On 10 August 2026, Boyaa Interactive (00434.HK) issued a profit warning. Based on preliminary assessment of the unaudited consolidated management accounts, the Group expects to record a loss attributable to owners of the Company of approximately HK$790 million to HK$800 million for the first half‑year, compared with a profit of about HK$226 million in the corresponding period of last year.

According to the announcement, the turnaround from profit to loss was mainly due to the drop in Bitcoin price during the first half‑year, which resulted in a decrease in fair value of digital assets held by the Group. Excluding the impact of non‑operating one‑off factors such as fair‑value changes of digital assets and financial assets including equity investment partnerships, the Group’s profit attributable to owners for the first half‑year rose by approximately 120%‑125% year‑on‑year, mainly driven by higher revenue from online games.
