Ascentage Pharma (06855.HK): Appoints Dr. Faïçal Miyara as CBO and Jim Ziegler as CCO to Strengthen Global Commercialization

Both Dr. Miyara and Mr. Ziegler will report directly to Dr. Yang Dajun, Chairman and CEO of the company.
According to the announcement, Dr. Miyara brings over 20 years of business development experience in oncology across major global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Prior to joining Ascentage, he served as Chief Business Officer and a core member of the executive team at IO Biotech; earlier, he was Vice President at Ipsen, overseeing global oncology business partnerships, project scouting and evaluation, and venture capital relationship management. Dr. Miyara also spent five years at Pfizer, where he co-founded and established the Pfizer New York Centers for Therapeutic Innovation (CTI) and held multiple senior R&D positions; subsequently, he spent five years at ImClone and Eli Lilly, directly participating in the R&D, optimization, and development of several well-known FDA-approved oncology biologics including Erbitux® (cetuximab) and Cyramza® (ramucirumab). Dr. Miyara holds a Ph.D. in Reproductive Biology, Molecular Biology, and Cell Biology from Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Sorbonne University) in Paris, France, and a Master's degree in Medical Biology and Engineering degree from Université Joseph Fourier Medical School in Grenoble, France.
Mr. Ziegler is a seasoned biopharmaceutical industry executive with over 25 years of commercial operations and management experience. He has led global P&L management for multiple products, built and scaled high-performing commercial teams, and accumulated full-cycle product launch and commercialization experience across multiple specialty therapies. With deep expertise in commercial strategy development, market access, and organizational system building, he is capable of driving cross-functional collaboration and commercial execution in complex specialty markets such as oncology and hematology. Mr. Ziegler has held commercial leadership roles at both established pharmaceutical giants and emerging biotech companies, including Amgen and Gilead Sciences, as well as Lovance Biotherapeutics and Geron, where he led global commercial teams. Prior to entering the biopharmaceutical industry, Mr. Ziegler served in the U.S. Army as an armored officer. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
