CHINA DEVELOPMENT BANK FINANCIAL LEASING(01606.HK): Acquisition of Three Vessels at Consideration Not Exceeding USD 138 Million

NewTimeSpace News: CHINA DEVELOPMENT BANK FINANCIAL LEASINGannounced on 14 July that three wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Company entered into shipbuilding contract assignment agreements with the original buyer and the seller to acquire three multi-purpose bulk carriers, with a total consideration capped at USD 138 million.

NewTimeSpace News: On 14 July 2026, CHINA DEVELOPMENT BANK FINANCIAL LEASING(01606.HK) issued an announcement. Acting as purchasers, three wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Company signed shipbuilding contract assignment agreements with Haitong International Shipping Limited (the original buyer) and Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (the seller).

The original buyer assigned all rights and obligations under the shipbuilding contracts to the purchasers, while the seller will continue constructing and deliver the target vessels. The total consideration shall not exceed USD 138 million, to be paid in instalments in line with construction progress. The funding will be sourced from internal capital and commercial bank loans, and vessel delivery is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027.

Upon completion of the transaction, the target vessels will be leased out under operating leases. CHINA DEVELOPMENT BANK FINANCIAL LEASINGstated that the transaction will help expand its market share in the shipping sector and align with the Group’s business development strategy.
