NewTimeSpace News: SHANGHAI IND H (00363.HK) announced on 13 July that construction has kicked off for the expansion project of G50 Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway (Shanghai Section). The project stretches 32.6 kilometres and involves upgrading the existing dual 4–6 lanes to dual 8 lanes, with estimated total investment surpassing RMB5.3 billion. Classified as a key municipal infrastructure project of Shanghai, construction will adopt the mode of "operation alongside construction".
NewTimeSpace News: On 13 July 2026, SHANGHAI IND H (00363.HK) released a voluntary announcement, stating that the construction phase of the expansion project of G50 Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway (Shanghai Section) has recently commenced.
Starting from Jiamin Elevated Road in the east and ending at Xicen Branch Road in the west, the route spans approximately 32.6 kilometres with an estimated total investment of over RMB5.3 billion. It has been designated as a major municipal infrastructure project of Shanghai.
Through bilateral widening works, the existing dual four-to-six-lane carriageway will be upgraded to dual eight lanes to substantially boost traffic capacity. A new Xicen West interchange will be built, together with optimisations to interchanges and road access points. Construction will be carried out under the "operation alongside construction" model to maintain uninterrupted cross-regional traffic.
The project will be maintained and operated by Shanghai Shenyu Highway Construction & Development Co., Ltd., an indirectly wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company. The Group commented that upon completion, the scheme will markedly improve regional traffic capacity and efficiency, and facilitate the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
