Abbisko(02256.HK): Strategic Cooperation Reached with AstraZeneca to Advance Clinical Study of ABSK043 Combined with Tagrisso for NSCLC Treatment

NewTimeSpace News: On July 2, 2026, Abbisko(02256.HK) issued a voluntary announcement, stating that its subsidiary HORIZON Therapeutics has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with AstraZeneca to jointly advance the clinical research of ABSK043 combined with Tagrisso in the treatment of NSCLC.

This is a multicenter, open-label Phase I/II clinical trial intended to assess the safety and efficacy of oral small-molecule PD-L1 inhibitor ABSK043 plus third-generation EGFR-TKI osimertinib for patients with locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC harbouring EGFR mutations and positive PD-L1 expression. The IND application for this study was approved by the NMPA on May 20, 2026. The Phase II portion will be led by HORIZON Therapeutics, with both parties sharing corresponding responsibilities.

As stated in the announcement, ABSK043 is a first-in-class oral small-molecule PD-L1 inhibitor independently developed by HORIZON Therapeutics. Featuring high bioavailability and excellent selectivity, it can specifically bind to the PD-L1 receptor and trigger its internalization, thereby effectively blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 interaction.
