INNOGEN-B(02591.HK): Ib-stage Clinical Trial of Efsubaglutide Alfa for Adolescent Obesity Approved, Expected to Kick Off in July

NewTimeSpace News: On 22 June 2026, Guangzhou Innogen Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. (02591.HK, INNOGEN-B) issued a voluntary announcement disclosing the latest progress of clinical trials for Efsubaglutide Alfa targeting adolescent obesity.

As disclosed in the announcement, the Group has secured approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China to carry out an Ib-stage clinical trial evaluating Efsubaglutide Alfa for adolescent obesity treatment. The Company anticipates that this clinical trial will initiate in July 2026, and plans to recruit roughly 36 trial participants.

Efsubaglutide Alfa is an indigenous human ultra-long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist independently developed by the Group, marketed under the brand name Yinuoqing®. It has already been approved in China for glycemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes. The Group is expanding its indication pipeline to cover weight management, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) and adolescent obesity, tapping into the unmet clinical demand for pediatric metabolic disorders.
