NewTimeSpace News: On 22 June 2026, Shanghai MicroPort MedBot (Group) Co., Ltd. (02252.HK) issued a voluntary announcement. The remote full-department surgical application of the Group’s self-developed Toumai laparoscopic surgical robot has officially obtained EU CE certification.

As disclosed in the announcement, Toumai Remote is the remote surgical system supporting the Group’s flagship Toumai laparoscopic surgical robot. Featuring globally pioneering technology compatible with multiple communication networks, it boasts technical strengths including low-latency master-slave control, high-bandwidth network communication and a highly stable system architecture design. This certification covers commercial access to over 30 major European countries, marking the world’s first and only commercial remote surgical system validated for full-department and full-procedure clinical use.

To date, Toumai has assisted in completing more than half of all global remote laparoscopic robotic surgeries, covering nearly 30 countries and regions across Asia, Europe, North America, South America and Africa. Since 2026, Toumai has supported cross-provincial, cross-border and intercontinental remote robotic surgeries performed by specialists worldwide, with the farthest surgical distance reaching 18,900 kilometres, enabling transcontinental remote surgical collaboration spanning half the globe.
