NewTimeSpace News:On March 9, 2026, Seatrium Limited, a global provider of offshore and energy engineering solutions, issued an announcement stating that it has entered into a new cooperation with its long-term partner Karpowership, securing the latter’s 8th FSRU conversion contract and completing the delivery of another FSRU, the LNGT Powership Oceania, simultaneously.

According to the announcement, the new contract is a follow-up to the Letter of Intent (LOI) signed by the two parties in August 2025, involving the conversion of a Liquefied Natural Gas Carrier (LNGC) into an FSRU. The project, named LNGT Karadeniz, is Karpowership’s first high-capacity FSRU with a regasification capacity of up to 600 million standard cubic feet per day. The conversion is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2026, covering the installation of a state-of-the-art regasification module, a mooring system, as well as various supporting systems.

A senior executive of Seatrium stated that the company has undertaken more than 90% of the world’s Floating Storage Unit (FSU)/FSRU conversion projects. This contract further consolidates its industry leadership and reflects Karpowership’s continued trust. To date, Seatrium has delivered six FSRU conversion projects for Karpowership.

In addition, the announcement specified that Seatrium has completed the delivery of the FSRU LNGT Powership Oceania on the same occasion.
