Rex's Subsidiary Completes Connection of Key Equipment at Benin's Sèmè Oilfield,Set to Launch Regular Production
NewTimeSpace News:On March 5, 2026, Rex disclosed the operational progress of its subsidiary LPH on the Sèmè Oilfield project in Benin through a press release. The connection work of the core equipment has been successfully completed, laying a solid foundation for the resumption of the oilfield's production.
According to the announcement, LPH has finished the connection of the Stella Energy 1 MOPU and FSO Kristina at the Sèmè Oilfield. Among them, the FSO Kristina was anchored in place last week, and the flow-line from the MOPU to the FSO has been laid this week. At present, the commissioning of the production system is well underway, and crude oil has been pumped into the FSO.
Pursuant to the announcement, LPH will conduct further testing and commissioning in the coming days, with the core goal of optimizing production output and smoothly launching the regular production of the oilfield. It is learned that the Sèmè Oilfield previously achieved commercial production from 1982 to 1998. The progress of this project marks a crucial stage in the restart process of the oilfield and will further enrich Rex's oil and gas asset layout in Africa.
