ChinaAMC Hang Seng Biotech ETF (03069.HK) is a passive exchange-traded fund managed by ChinaAMC (Hong Kong), seeking to track the Hang Seng Biotech Index. Compiled by Hang Seng Indexes on a net total return basis, the index reflects the overall performance of the 30 largest biotech companies listed in Hong Kong that are eligible for Stock Connect, including pre-revenue companies listed under Chapter 18A of the Listing Rules. Constituents span the Hang Seng industry classifications of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical distribution, pharmaceutical and biotech contract services, and medical equipment and supplies, weighted by free-float market capitalisation with a 10% cap on any single constituent.

Everbright Securities believes profit growth across the pharmaceutical and biotech sector significantly outpaced revenue growth in the first three quarters of 2026 and accelerated quarter by quarter. It sees a strong CXO industry with both revenue and profit growing rapidly and improving earnings quality; innovative drugs benefiting from recognition of outbound licensing income and product ramp-up, with profit far ahead of revenue; and medical devices showing revenue recovery with divergent profits, as single-quarter profit for medical equipment turned positive. Looking to 2027, the firm sees greater certainty in CXO and outbound innovative drugs, with revenue inflection points already visible for devices, pharmacies and hospitals.
