The Global X China Semiconductor ETF (09191.HK) is a passively managed ETF under Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong), listed on August 7, 2020, investing in companies engaged in semiconductor production in China, spanning integrated circuit design, wafer fabrication, packaging and testing, and semiconductor equipment; it seeks returns closely correlated with the FactSet China Semiconductor Index (net total return) before fees and expenses. The fund's base currency is the renminbi, with Hong Kong dollar and US dollar counters; the US dollar counter trades in board lots of 25 units, carries an ongoing charges figure of 0.68% a year and distributes annually in May at the manager's discretion.
Wanlian Securities believes that, driven by AI computing demand, Murata's five-year MLCC capacity expansion plan worth about ¥1 trillion and TSMC's planned increase in advanced packaging prices confirm that computing infrastructure remains in a high-growth phase; comments from Samsung and SK hynix suggest the memory supply shortage will persist for a considerable period. The brokerage judges that domestic computing-power build-out is still in its early stages, and that high-growth segments along the chain — PCB, memory and MLCC — are in an expansion cycle that should also lift demand for upstream equipment and advanced packaging.
