On the news front, Alibaba's Qwen is preparing to launch "Qwen Go", a personal AI assistant. Built on an agent architecture and a cloud environment, the product breaks through the limits of short-chain instructions and can handle complex tasks without fixed procedures; tests show it can act on a user's behalf inside real apps to complete operations requiring multi-round negotiation and dynamic decision-making, such as claiming compensation in cash for flight delays or applying for price-protection refunds on Taobao. Alibaba-W is one of the main weighted constituents of the Hang Seng TECH Index.
iShares Hang Seng TECH ETF (03067.HK) closely tracks the Hang Seng TECH Index. The index represents the 30 largest Hong Kong-listed companies with high business exposure to technology themes; constituents must be classified under Industrials, Consumer Discretionary, Healthcare, Financials or Information Technology and be highly exposed to at least one of the Internet (including mobile), FinTech, Cloud, E-commerce, Digital or Autonomous themes. The index is freefloat-adjusted market-capitalisation weighted with an 8% cap on individual constituents and is reviewed quarterly. The fund mainly adopts a representative sampling strategy, investing in a portfolio of securities highly correlated with the index.
SPDB International believes that after the revision of the Hang Seng TECH Index, its composition will align better with global technology trends and is expected to enhance the appeal of Hong Kong technology stocks to overseas capital, making them one of the first choices for global funds allocating to Chinese technology assets; structural optimisation of the sector and passive fund rebalancing should help lift the liquidity and valuation levels of the relevant stocks.
