NewTimeSpace News: As of 09:42 on October 12, the iShares Hang Seng TECH ETF (03067.HK) rose 0.68% to a latest price of HK$8.900. The ETF has traded 2.3959 million shares so far today for a turnover of HK$21.3633 million at an average price of HK$8.916, with a turnover rate of 0.16%. It is up 0.68% so far this week. Its current net asset value per unit is HK$8.865, and its assets under management stand at HK$12.95 billion.(Note on scope: the net asset value per unit and assets under management are as of October 9, 2026; the week-to-date change is measured against the closing price of HK$8.840 on October 9.)

On the news front, statistics from Securities Times DataBao show that southbound funds recorded net buying of HK$6.768 billion over the two trading sessions after the National Day holiday (October 8 and 9), the seventh consecutive week of net buying; by stock, buying focused on internet leaders, with Tencent Holdings (00700.HK) seeing net buying of HK$2.193 billion and Alibaba-W (09988.HK) HK$466 million, while Xiaomi Group-W (01810.HK) and SMIC (00981.HK) saw net selling of HK$489 million and HK$667 million respectively. All four companies are constituents of the Hang Seng TECH Index.

iShares Hang Seng TECH ETF (03067.HK) closely tracks the Hang Seng TECH Index. The index represents the 30 largest Hong Kong-listed companies with high business exposure to technology themes; constituents must be classified under Industrials, Consumer Discretionary, Healthcare, Financials or Information Technology and be highly exposed to at least one of the Internet (including mobile), FinTech, Cloud, E-commerce, Digital or Autonomous themes. The index is freefloat-adjusted market-capitalisation weighted with an 8% cap on individual constituents and is reviewed quarterly. The fund mainly adopts a representative sampling strategy, investing in a portfolio of securities highly correlated with the index.

Huatai Securities believes that its pre-holiday call for a short-term rebound in Hong Kong stocks is starting to play out, but while interest-rate pressure has eased at the margin, conditions for a trend reversal have yet to emerge and "higher for longer" remains the base case; that a short-term rebound under extreme pressure is reasonable, yet with medium-term liquidity and fundamental constraints unresolved and a peak in lock-up expiries looming at year-end, it advises responding with structure rather than chasing beta; sentiment in overseas technology hardware has recovered somewhat but is concentrated in a few giants with strong catalysts, and with Hong Kong stocks mainly playing the domestic substitution chain, a window for trend-following long positions has yet to arrive.
