NewTimeSpace News:as of 13:26 HKT on September 30, 2026, Samsung S&P GSCI Crude Oil ER Futures ETF (03175.HK) fell 2.12% to HK$11.550, with turnover of HK$821,500, volume of 71,200 units and a turnover rate of 0.29%.
NewTimeSpace has learned that the ETF is managed by Samsung Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited and is a futures-based commodity ETF that invests directly in WTI crude oil futures traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange, tracking the S&P GSCI Crude Oil Multiple Contract 55/30/15 1M/2M/3M (USD) ER Index. As of 13:26 HKT on September 30, 2026, the ETF had HK$283m in assets, a net asset value of HK$11.545 per unit and a board lot of 200 units.
On the news front, Xinhua reported that the Office of Petroleum Reserves of the US Department of Energy issued a solicitation to release up to 40 million barrels of crude to the market through an exchange, with deliveries expected in November and December.
Standard Chartered commodity analysts noted that trend-following funds currently hold extreme long positions across Brent, WTI and key refined products, a positioning structure seen only a handful of times in the past decade; with global energy inventory buffers thin, room for further position building has largely been exhausted.
