NewTimeSpace has learned that the ETF is managed by CSOP Asset Management Limited and tracks the Solactive Gold 1-Day Rolling Futures Index with daily 2x leverage, making it a leveraged index product whose underlying is gold futures contracts. As of 09:37 HKT on September 30, the ETF had HK$1.45bn in assets, a net asset value of HK$21.302 per unit and a board lot of 100 units.

On the news front, the US Department of Labor reported that US job openings fell to 7.079m in August, below market expectations; separately, the Conference Board reported that its US consumer confidence index fell to 81.9 in September, the lowest since 2014.

The World Gold Council noted in its Gold Demand Trends report that the core rationale for central banks' gold purchases is reserve diversification, given gold's low correlation with other assets and its freedom from sovereign credit risk; central banks and other official institutions added a net 289 tonnes of gold in the second quarter, up 62% year on year.
