NewTimeSpace News: NVIDIA shares plunged 5.46% in local trading on Thursday, dragging down the semiconductor sector and the S&P 500 index. Goldman Sachs noted that despite NVIDIA reporting 73% year-on-year revenue growth and issuing optimistic guidance for its AI business prospects, the stock still suffered a sharp decline. Analysts attributed the drop to profit-taking following the earnings beat, alongside market concerns over the sustainability of hyperscalers' AI capital expenditure.

The semiconductor sector subsequently oscillated lower. As of February 27, Samsung Global Semiconductor (03132.HK) fell nearly 5%, though the fund has gained over 22% year-to-date.

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing data shows that Samsung Global Semiconductor (03132.HK) tracks the Bloomberg Global Semiconductor Top 20 Index, focusing on the global semiconductor sector. As a sub-category of Bloomberg's thematic index series, it selects the 20 global leading securities with the highest proportion of semiconductor business revenue from the parent index.

In terms of corporate updates, NVIDIA announced its fiscal fourth-quarter results for the period ending January 25, with revenue reaching $68.1 billion compared to $39.331 billion in the prior-year period, representing 73% year-on-year growth. Net income surged 94% to $43.0 billion, up from $22.1 billion in the same quarter last year. Full fiscal year 2026 revenue reached $215.9 billion, marking 65% year-on-year growth.

Additionally, NVIDIA's GTC conference is scheduled to commence on March 16. Widely recognized as NVIDIA's most significant annual event, market expectations currently center on potential major updates or launches including LPU, CPO, and VR200 Superpod products.
