HK shares ETFs Daily Report: Little Giants and STAR 50 Lead as AI Infrastructure and Gold Miners Plunge — September 15, 2026

On September 15, 2026, the HK shares ETFs market showed structural rotation within the tech sector. STAR 50 and little-giant themes led the day's gains, with three STAR 50 ETFs collectively entering the top ten gainers, while China semiconductor names rose in tandem. At the same time, AI infrastructure fell sharply, and gold miners, electric vehicles and Korea themes came under broad pressure. Among southbound Stock Connect ETFs, only ICBC CSOP S&P New China Sectors ETF edged higher, while all other products fell, with dividend and Hong Kong-Korea tech names leading the declines.
Gains were highly concentrated in STAR 50 and little-giant themes. Global X China Little Giant ETF (02815.HK), managed by Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong), rose 1.93% to top the gainers board, tracking the Solactive China Little Giant Index (Net Total Return); Pando Innovation ETF (03056.HK), managed by Pando Limited, rose 1.88%, following closely behind.
The STAR 50 theme strengthened across the board, with three ETFs entering the top ten gainers. CSOP STAR 50 Index ETF (03109.HK), managed by CSOP Asset Management, rose 1.33%; Premia China STAR50 ETF (03151.HK), managed by Premia Partners Company Limited, rose 1.28%; Bosera STAR 50 Index ETF (02832.HK), managed by Bosera Asset Management (International), rose 0.80% — all three tracking the SSE STAR 50 Index.
China semiconductor and US tech themes also performed. Global X China Semiconductor ETF (03191.HK), managed by Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong), rose 1.04%, tracking the FactSet China Semiconductor Index (Net Total Return); CSOP Mag Seven ETF (03454.HK), managed by CSOP Asset Management, rose 0.79%, tracking the Solactive US Magnificent Seven Index; Samsung NYSE FANG+ ETF (02814.HK), managed by Samsung Asset Management (Hong Kong), rose 0.78%, tracking the NYSE FANG+ Index.
In addition, Xtrackers FTSE Vietnam UCITS ETF (03087.HK), managed by DWS Investment S.A., rose 0.76%; Samsung CSI China Dragon Internet ETF (02812.HK), managed by Samsung Asset Management (Hong Kong), rose 0.59%, tracking the CSI Global China Internet Index.

On the downside, AI infrastructure fell sharply, making it the biggest decliner of the day. Global X AI Infrastructure ETF (03401.HK), managed by Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong), fell 4.51%.
Gold mining and electric vehicle themes came under pressure in tandem. E Fund (HK) Solactive Global Gold Miner Select Index ETF (02824.HK), managed by E Fund Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited, fell 3.10%; Global X China Electric Vehicle ETF (02845.HK), managed by Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong), fell 2.64%, tracking the Solactive China Electric Vehicle and Battery Index (Net Return).
Korea themes weakened broadly. Global X KOSPI 200 ETF (03408.HK), managed by Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong), fell 2.52%, tracking the KOSPI 200 Index; CSOP KOSPI 200 ETF (03121.HK), managed by CSOP Asset Management, fell 1.93%. A day earlier (September 14), Xtrackers MSCI Korea UCITS ETF, CSOP KOSPI 200 ETF and CSOP KOSPI 200 Covered Call Active ETF fell 4.49%, 4.00% and 3.41% respectively, marking a second consecutive session of declines for Korea-related ETFs.
Growth styles pulled back broadly. Bosera SZSE ChiNext Daily (2x) Leveraged Product (07234.HK), managed by Bosera Asset Management (International), fell 2.38%, tracking a leveraged ChiNext Index product; Samsung Bloomberg Global Semiconductor ETF (03132.HK), managed by Samsung Asset Management (Hong Kong), fell 1.98%; Hang Seng China A Industry Top Index ETF (03128.HK), managed by Hang Seng Investment Management, fell 1.94%; Fubon ICE FactSet Taiwan Core Semiconductor Index ETF (03076.HK), managed by Fubon Fund Management (Hong Kong) Limited, fell 1.58%.

At the same time, AI infrastructure fell 4.51% in a single day, the biggest decliner of the day, and gold miners, electric vehicles and Korea themes came under broad pressure, with Korea-related ETFs falling for a second consecutive session. Notably, divergence emerged within the semiconductor sector — China semiconductor rose 1.04%, while Samsung Bloomberg Global Semiconductor ETF and Fubon ICE FactSet Taiwan Core Semiconductor Index ETF fell 1.98% and 1.58% respectively. Among southbound Stock Connect ETFs, only ICBC CSOP S&P New China Sectors ETF posted a modest gain while all others fell; CSOP Hang Seng Biotech ETF turned lower after a big rally the previous day, and dividend products also failed to hold up.
