In the AI chip segment, performance was mixed. BIREN TECH (06082.HK), whose interim-report revenue surged, jumped 18.81%, with HUA HONG GRACE, SMIC, and GIGADEVICE following the gains. MONTAGE TECHNOLOGY (06809.HK) fell 5.61%, with ILUVATAR COREX following the decline.

1. CXMT's LPDDR6 memory officially enters mass production

On August 29, CXMT announced that its LPDDR6 memory has officially entered mass production. Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, posted a message congratulating CXMT on achieving LPDDR6 mass production, stating that the Xuanjie O3 is the first to support CXMT's LPDDR6, and that the Xiaomi 18 Fold will be the first device to feature it.

2. a16z's Machine Age Fund raises USD 1.1 billion to invest in chips, robotics, and other hardware areas

On August 28, prominent Silicon Valley venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) announced that hardware has been formally established as a core direction for the firm, and raised USD 1.1 billion for its Machine Age Fund. The model has 770 billion total parameters, activates 49 billion parameters per inference, and achieves a context length of 1 million tokens. According to test results published by Tencent, Hy4 preview's performance on tasks such as programming, agent, office, and scientific research is already close to that of leading domestic open-source models.

4. BIREN TECH (06082): H1 operating revenue of RMB 1.236 billion, up nearly 2,000%

On August 28, BIREN TECH released its 2026 interim results announcement.
