3. Anthropic may list in October; the largest IPO in history could change hands
Reported on August 13, several Anthropic investors revealed that the company is expected to list in October at a valuation of US$2 trillion or higher. If the forecast proves accurate, that valuation would surpass SpaceX's, making it the largest initial public offering in history. Anthropic's investors said robust demand for AI models and tools underpins its valuation. Anthropic's annualized revenue is expected to reach US$100 billion to US$120 billion by the end of 2026, achieving more than 10x growth over the full year.
4. Google launches Gemini 3.7 Flash — improved coding, half the price
On August 14, Alphabet-C (GOOG.US) unveiled Gemini 3.7 Flash, positioned as the "smartest work model," targeting coding, agents, and complex workflows. It scored 43.6% on the FrontierCode 1.1 Main benchmark (vs. 34.4% for the prior generation) and 65.3% on DeepSWE v1.1 (vs. 49.0%). By year-end, every 1 million input/output tokens will cost just US$0.75/US$3.75 — half the prior generation's original price.
5. HUA HONG GRACE Q2 sales revenue ~US$718 million, up 26.8% YoY
On August 13, HUA HONG GRACE disclosed second-quarter sales revenue of approximately US$718 million, up 26.8% year-on-year; profit of US$38.639 million, up 385.9% year-on-year. The increase was mainly attributable to higher wafer volumes and rising average selling prices. The company expects Q3 2026 sales revenue of approximately between US$770 million and US$780 million, with gross margin of approximately between 16% and 18%.
