On 7 August 2026, Hong Kong stocks opened lower and closed higher. The Hang Seng Index rose 0.54% to 25,668.03 points, the Hang Seng TECH Index rose 0.78% and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index rose 0.39%. Total daily turnover was HKD 259.686 billion, up from the previous trading day, with southbound capital recording a net sell of HKD 778 million. In intelligent driving, Nasen Technology, dubbed the "first HK-listed wire-controlled chassis stock", surged 64.1% on its debut, with its products having entered the supply chains of Changan, Li Auto and Chery; HORIZONROBOT-W fell 2.9%.

1. Unitree IPO priced at RMB 150.8 per share; DeepSeek and Tencent to participate in strategic placement

On 6 August, Unitree (688836.SH), dubbed the "first humanoid robot stock", announced that the IPO issue price on the STAR Market has been set at RMB 150.8 per share, with online subscription on 10 August, expected total proceeds of approximately RMB 6.099 billion, an issue market capitalisation of approximately RMB 61 billion and an issue P/E ratio of 219.23 times. The Company also disclosed the strategic placement list: DeepSeek intends to subscribe up to RMB 155 million, Qishan Investment, a Tencent-affiliated entity, intends to subscribe RMB 150 million, with the National Social Security Fund, CSG Investment, Tianyi Capital and CITIC Securities Investment also participating. From acceptance of its application to listing committee approval took only 73 days, setting the fastest review record on the STAR Market this year.

2. Alibaba's video generation model Wan 3.0 enters public beta, first supporting document format input

On 6 August, Alibaba (09988.HK) launched public beta of its video generation large model Wan 3.0, with comprehensive upgrades in generation duration, versatile creation, omnipotent reference and real-world restoration: it can generate 30-second videos in a single session; beyond the four basic modalities of text, image, audio and video, it for the first time supports document format inputs including doc, xls, ppt, pdf and md, allowing structured content such as courseware and product presentations to be directly converted into videos.
