I. Market Overview
On July 30, 2026, Hong Kong's tech-themed stocks broadly weakened. The Hang Seng Index edged up 0.20%, while the Hang Seng Tech Index fell 1.25% and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index gained 0.25%. Turnover on the Hang Seng Index reached HKD 304.9 billion today, down from the previous trading day. Southbound capital recorded a net outflow of HKD 8.571 billion.
The large-model sector showed mixed performance. Tencent Holdings (00700.HK) bucked the trend and rose 1.16%, with Meituan-W and Kuaishou-W also gaining. Among the two major large-model players, Zhipu (02513.HK) plunged over 15%, while MINIMAX-W fell more than 4%.
The AI chip and hardware segment continued its heavy decline, pressured by multiple negative factors including Microsoft's fiscal 2027 capital expenditure guidance falling short of expectations and earnings concerns at overseas optical fibre leaders. SMIC (00981.HK) dropped over 7%, and Hua Hong Semiconductor (01347.HK) slid more than 8%.
The autonomous driving and automotive sector was relatively active. Horizon Robotics-W (09660.HK) and Xiaomi-W (01810.HK) opened higher but later turned lower.
In embodied intelligence, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun released a short video on robotics, drawing market attention. Meanwhile, the U.S. FCC recently announced the inclusion of foreign‑produced advanced robotics equipment in its import control list. UBTECH (09880.HK) fell over 4%.
